TAPAS CRAWL, VEGAN STYLE!
Bring a 100% plant-based tapas-style (http://www.onegreenplanet.org/vegan-food/meat-free-tapas-for-sampling-spanish-cuisine/) dish free of flesh, eggs, animal-derived dairy, honey, and gelatin. If you don’t cook, that’s okay — bring something from the store (http://www.traderjoes.com/dietary-lists/vegan)! Your dish should serve 6 people.
SHARING IS CARING – please share with or tag your friends. Thank you!!
As always, there will be a table for the Plant Based Chico group for foods that are strictly whole-food, plant-based, with no added sugar, salt or oil. Everyone is free to intermingle and select from each table and no food shaming, please.
FYI: These potlucks are way more popular than the RSVP counts on this page. Our average potluck attendance is about 25 people, because we get many people from the Chico Vegan Meetup Facebook group, as well as from chicovegan.com.
The suggested theme of this month’s potluck is: TAPAS TIME, VEGAN-STYLE!
WHAT THE HECK ARE TAPAS????? Tapas are essentially finger foods, usually served (and expected) as snacks at bars, and they can range from rather fancy compilations of fine ingredients to a toothpick of olives, à la extra olives in a martini. Go here (http://spanishfood.about.com/od/discoverspanishfood/f/faqtapas.htm) if you want to learn more.
HERE ARE SOME VEGAN RECIPES:

If you’re not into cooking but just want to socialize, it’s fine to bring something yummy from the store, AS LONG AS IT IS IN THE TAPAS STYLE.
Please bring a printout of your recipe or a list of the ingredients used (for the benefit of those with food allergies) with your name on it.
Please do not bring soup – we have no bowls and are concerned about spills.
Please bring your own beverages.
Please bring your own plates, cups, silverware, and serving utensils. We have spares available if you forget!
Non-veg friends welcome! Children welcome!
Sorry, no dogs. No alcohol.
The Chico Vegan Potluck meets on the fourth Saturday of every month except November and December.
Delicious food and recipes are shared with those who care about their health, the planet, and, most of all, the animals.
For more information or cruelty-free recipes, please visitchicovegan.com or join Chico Vegan Meetup on Facebook.
