You don’t have to be vegan to attend, but the food does! Bring a 100% plant-based dish free of flesh, eggs, animal-derived dairy, honey, and gelatin. If you don’t cook, that’s okay — bring something from the store (http://www.traderjoes.com/dietary-lists/vegan)! Your dish should serve 6-8 people.
Our (optional) theme this month is Eat Yer Greens. Break out the kale, spinach, cilantro, romaine, and whatever leafy green makes your boat float. Now’s the time to check out all those delicious blogs that you’ve bookmarked – recipes from Vegan Richa, Minimalist Baker, Olives for Dinner: Recipes for the Ethical Vegan, Elizavegan, and Straight Up Food, just to name a few.
SHARING IS CARING – please share with or tag your friends, or post in your workplace or coffee shop. Thank you!! As always, there will be a table for the Plant Based Chico group for foods that are strictly whole-food, plant-based, with no added sugar, salt or oil. Everyone is free to intermingle and select from each table and no food shaming, please.
FYI: Our average potluck attendance is about 25-30 wonderful human beings, because people learn about these events from Meetup as well as the Chico Vegan Meetup Facebook group, the Chico Vegan Instagram and Twitter, chicovegan.com, and good old word-of-mouth.
Please bring a printout of your recipe or a list of the ingredients used (for the benefit of those with food allergies).
Please do not bring soup – we have no bowls and are concerned about spills.
Please bring your own beverage.
Please bring your own plate, cup, silverware, and serving utensils. We have spares if you forget!
Non-veg friends welcome! Children welcome!
